About the Artist - Rose Rutherford

Passionate about creating, my pieces are inspired by nature. These inspirations may come from the simplest detail or the most complex view to catch my eye.

Specializing in Pearls, Gemstones, Crystals, Italian Murano Glass, Sterling Silver and other natural elements & components from around the world, I personally select each one for its texture, color, light, uniqueness or luster. I am always looking for that rare or unusual element to enlighten my creativity; each finished piece is handmade and one-of-a kind, designed to complement and radiate natural beauty. It should feel comfortable against the skin and find its own meaning with the wearer. The emotional connection someone has with my jewelry is what truly completes the piece.

My collections are varied and dynamic, reflecting current trends with classic undertones. These creations have been noted as having “traditional influence,” “contemporary flair,” and “edgy symmetry.” They have been called “beautifully unusual,” as well as spirited, unique and timeless. Living in Colorado before moving to Nebraska in 1998 and sharing my time between our Santa Fe home and Omaha has produced a great appreciation of the outdoors and all its beauty. The American Southwest, the wondrous stretch of the Rocky Mountains, as well as exotic flavors of the Pacific islands, are often reflected in my work.

My career life for over 30 years has been graced with an ever changing balance of the health care and art industries. Using art as a way of helping others is one way that I have found to combine both of these important areas of my life. I have worked in various areas of the art industry as well as in many mediums. Although I started collecting and weaving vintage jewelry, beads and findings at a very young age, I began creating jewelry professionally in 2001.

The pleasure of being an artist, wife, mother, and career woman has made my life rich and full, yet I am always ready to embrace something new, different and unusual.

“Keep your mind creative, your heart open, your soul strong
and your spirit dancing.”
